Howdens extends partnership with British Touring Car Driver, Andrew Watson

MBP are delighted to announce that Howdens, the UK’s leading trade supplier of kitchens, has extended their long-running sponsorship of Andrew Watson as he competes in the 2024 British Touring Car Championship alongside TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK.

Now in its sixth year, the partnership has gone from strength to strength and enters a new phase, as Andrew supports Howdens in launching new initiatives to support tradespeople. MBP, the relationship-driven sports marketing agency, has been proud to support, foster and cultivate the growth and success of the partnership between Howdens and Andrew Watson since 2019 as the Northern Irishman’s career on track has continually progressed.

Highlighting the importance of a team effort behind every professional, Andrew will be the face of Howdens' new Click & Collect offering. The new service, which launched recently, allows customers to check stock at their local depot, as well as reserve what they need at the click of a button. Ready to collect in just 15 minutes, customers can collect products at a convenient time for them.

Just as Andrew has the support of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK team who work hard behind the scenes to provide Andrew with a front-running car, which has enabled him to score points in every single race so far this season, this aligns strongly with Click & Collect as it has been designed to provide trade customers with the winning edge to help grow their business.

Andrew Livingston, Chief Executive Officer at Howdens, says: “We’re delighted to be once again partnering with Andrew. He’s been brilliant to work with and it’s been great to share in the success that he’s had on the track.

“Supporting our Click & Collect initiative, Andrew will play an important role in highlighting the key message that Howdens is there to support and be a team player to our customers. Having a wealth of live and accurate information, along with the ability to secure what you need, when you need it, our Click & Collect service will provide support to many tradespeople across the UK.”

Andrew Watson, British Touring Car Championship Driver, adds: “Howdens has supported me for the last six years, from starting out at Aston Martin, to competing in the 24 hours of Le Mans, it has been a journey.

“The next phase of the partnership is an exciting one, as I return the favour and support Howdens with their new initiative for tradespeople. I know how important it is to have a team behind you – my job would be impossible without one – so it is fantastic to see how Howdens is supporting its customers and working as a team to provide convenience through their latest service.”

Mark Blundell, CEO of MBP, concludes: “MBP have very much enjoyed forging the partnership between Howdens and Andrew Watson since 2019 and this season marks a new chapter for the association as we step up the activation to a new level. We look forward to supporting both parties to another successful campaign together on and off the track.”
