MB Partners are delighted to announce that Andrew Watson will contest the 2022 Asian Le Mans Series with Optimum Motorsport, racing with the squad at all four races.
Fresh from a campaign in the FIA World Endurance Championship, Andrew will take the wheel of one of the team’s McLaren 720S GT3 cars alongside Joe Osborne and Nick Moss in the GT Am class.
The team will take to the track for the first time together at Dubai Autodrome with the first two races of the campaign to be contested on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th February. The series will then move to Yas Marina Circuit to conclude the championship with two further races the following week on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th February. Each four-hour race will take in a different mixture of day, night and twilight racing action.
inception racing by Optimum Motorsport have enjoyed success in the series previously, taking a debut podium finish in the opening race of last year’s championship alongside a runner-up spot in the GT class at the second event.
Looking ahead, Andrew is excited to get out on track with the team and looks forward to putting the McLaren 720S GT3 through its paces.
