Andrew Watson's BTCC campaign resumes at Croft

With the summer break reaching its conclusion, Andrew Watson returns to action for round six of his debut Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship campaign as he and his CarStore Power Maxed Racing team head for Croft Circuit.

The first half of Andrew's maiden campaign in the UK's premier motorsport series has seen the Northern Irishman claim two Jack Sears Trophy wins, at Donington Park and Oulton Park, as well as an Independent's victory at the opening weekend at Donington.

Andrew's pursuit of the Jack Sears Trophy title resumes this week at the 2.1-mile Croft Circuit in Yorkshire venue after a six-week summer hiatus,

Andrew heads for the venue currently sitting in P20 in the overall drivers' standings with 26 points, 5th in the Independents Trophy with 158 points, and 3rd in the Jack Sears Trophy with 209 points.

Looking ahead to this week, a positive Andrew Watson is excited to get the second half of the season underway.

“I’m feeling really good, in general, heading to Croft. We had a really positive tyre test during the break, and the gap gives the team a proper chance to strip the cars back to the components and then re-prep them.

“So, I know the Vauxhall Astra underneath me will be in good shape. We had a pre-season test at Croft, the weather wasn’t ideal at that stage in the year, but we still had a chance to get a look at the track, which is more than I’ve had for most circuits so far this season.

“I’m feeling refreshed and re-charged in myself. We had great pace during the first half of the season but didn’t always convert it. I’ve learnt a lot, and I’m looking forward to putting it into practice, starting at Croft.”

Saturday will begin with two free practice sessions before qualifying at 15:25 (BST) which can be watched live on YouTube.

All three races take place on Sunday, with live coverage available on ITV4, or online. The races are scheduled for 12:10 (BST), 14:35 and 17:00 respectively. Live timing across the weekend is available here.
