Andrew Watson reunites with Garage 59 for Bathurst 12 Hours

Andrew Watson will make his fourth appearance at the iconic Bathurst 12 Hours next week (2nd February) as he rejoins Garage 59 in the #159 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 A-Silver entry.

Aston Martin Racing Junior, Andrew Watson, will make his fourth appearance at Mount Panorama Circuit, Australia, next week as he reunites with Garage 59. Andrew’s previous three trips to Bathurst saw him finish in 9th place overall on his debut in 2016, before finishing in 5th (2018) and 6th place (2019) in the ProAm class on his two previous visits.

The 25-year-old from Donaghmore Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland, will join Olivier Hart and Roman De Angelis in the #159 Garage 59 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 for Silver Class honours at the once-around-the-clock race. Taking on his favourite track in the world, Andrew is excited to head to the southern hemisphere and feels optimistic about the team’s chances.

“Bathurst is just the ultimate track in my opinion. It’s a great layout with lots of undulation, and the people and fans really make the event. Starting from darkness and watching the sunrise is amazing. I’ve always been quick there in the past and the Vantage GT3 should be well suited. I can’t wait to challenge for a podium with my new teammates.”

Traveling straight from the Daytona 24 Hours, Andrew’s race weekend at the LIQUI-MOLY Bathurst 12 Hours gets underway on January 31 with the first of five practice sessions, with qualifying taking place on Saturday and the race getting underway at 5:45am (local) on Sunday morning.
