Andrew Watson returns to BTCC action at the home of British motorsport as he looks to extend his lead in the Jack Sears Trophy as the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship reaches it's penultimate round.
The Northern Irishman heads to Silverstone full of confidence, fresh from his Jack Sears Trophy success at Donington Park which saw him reclaim the lead of the standings by fourteen points from stablemate, Mikey Doble.
Andrew's maiden BTCC season has seen him put in some impressive performances, with several Indepedant victories, an overall podium and multiple Jack Sears Trophy podium finishes in a fantastic run of form.
Andrew heads to the Silverstone National layout lying P16 in the overall drivers' standings with 66 points, 3rd in the Independents Trophy with 277 points, and 1st in the Jack Sears Trophy with 359 points respectively
Looking forward to tackling Silverstone once more, an excited Andrew Watson can't wait to get the weekend underway:
“I’m really looking forward to getting out at Silverstone, the National circuit is one I really enjoy driving. I’ve had great results there in the past, and I know the car should be good around there in the high-speed sections. Everything’s going well and the team are in a great position. There’s a lot still to play for in the Jack Sears Trophy in the last two rounds, so I’m feeling fully focused and looking to pick up some more silverware.”
Saturday will begin with two free practice sessions before qualifying at 15:35 (BST) which can be watched live on YouTube.
All three races will take place on Sunday, with live coverage available on ITV4, or online. The races are scheduled for 11:30 (BST), 14:25 and 17:10 respectively. Live timing across the weekend is available here.
